Summary
In the Kingdom of Embardale, Queen Fiona deeply loved her husband, King Cecil. But shortly after losing him to a widespread epidemic, she is falsely accused of murdering him and driven out of the palace.
On the run from those pursuing her, Fiona finally reaches the estate of Duke Windsor, Cecil’s close friend. While hiding there, the two of them begin to feel an inescapable sense that something is wrong about Cecil’s death.
Following the trail from the medicine he took while alive, they uncover a truth far more cruel than they could have imagined.
This is the story of a queen who, even after everything has been taken from her, continues to live for the sake of all those she loves.
